Facilitators

Under competent leadership, The Gurukul Faculty, the backbone of the school, extends education beyond conventional boundaries. Facilitating enriching experiences, the teachers at The Gurukul are essentially equipped with the qualities of the head and heart and lead the young learners put under their care on the path of success. The yearning for learning is enhanced under their competent, caring and enriching guidance. In their teaching process, the teachers do not forget that they are forever learners and as such, require to keep themselves abreast with the latest, by way of regular in- service training and orientation programmes that are organized for them from time to time. They acknowledge different learning abilities, needs and styles of students and seek to optimize their learning by addressing individual requirements in a very positive and an all-inclusive manner. They encourage the new generation not just to follow, but to overtake.

Co-Curricular Activities

We understand that a purely academic endeavour would not suffice to prepare our young learners to face life's challenges. To augment classroom studies, we provide extensive opportunities in the Co-curricular field. To unearth the hidden talent in the young learners, various Activity Clubs like Western Dance, Classical Dance, Dramatics, Karate, Home Science, Creative Art, etc. are offered. Regular Inter-House Competitions are organised to promote a healthy competitive spirit in the students and also to prepare them for bigger challenges. The young Gurukulites have already carved a niche for themselves in the vast world of Inter School competitions and have brought home many laurels. To further instil confidence in the young students and to inspire them to achieve higher aims in life, celebrities from various fields are also invited to interact with them.

Societal Commitments

Mapping out the future of its learners, realizing the urgent need of developing in them the ability to think intricately, not only about themselves, but also about their responsibilities towards society, the school makes its children aware of the same. Special efforts are put in to sensitize the children towards their environment. It is in this direction, that The Gurukul undertakes special campaigns like Anti-Polythene, Anti-Crackers, Tree Plantation Drives etc. and also organises Awareness Rallies to this effect. It is also associated with noble causes like the 'Thalassaemic Children Welfare Association (Regd.)' and helps organise events to raise funds for the suffering children and also spread awareness about this disease. In an endeavour to contribute towards'Campaign for Peace City-Chandigarh' as a part of initiative taken by UN for promotion of Peace and Non-violence, we are associated with 'Yuvsatta' - an NGO,working for revival of Gandhian principles and values.

Soprts

The Gurukulites have proved their mettle in the field of sports as well and have won prizes in many prestigious events at the interschool, state level and national level. Extensive outdoor play facilities comprise multiple play stations with slides, club houses and climbing units for the tiny tots, beautiful Basketball courts, Skating practice rink for the budding sports persons, Cricket practice net for the cricket crazy, gymnastics equipments for training in Gymnastics and provision for Kho-Kho, atheletics, volleyball etc. Indoor play facilities include provision for Table Tennis, Table Soccer, Carrom and Chess.

Transport

The GPS enabled mini-deluxe coaches with three cameras and a lady attendant each, make commuting to and fro from school extremely safe. We also offer SMS alerts/notifications about the estimated time of arrival of the school bus and its real time tracking to the parents. Our Zirakpur branch has air-conditioned buses.
The school campus also has HD CCTV cameras covering each and every strategic area including all corridors and entries to the washrooms. Special care is taken to appoint only female attendants and janitors for the primary wing.
